Scarf or Gaiter

A scarf, or neck gaiter is recommended for all participants.
- It gets cold at East Wind and you can bleed off a lot of
heat out in the field, or on night guard duty. A neck wrap, such
as a USGI scarf, or poly pro neck gaiter will help you keep warm.
- Wool and poly pro will insulate, even when wet. Do not depend
on cotton, as it loses its insulating properties almost instantly
when moist.
- Scarves and neck gaiters are easily obtained, and will not
break the bank. Look for these items in OD green, brown and black.
- Shemaghs and other similar covers are allowed, and will work,
but are not especially compatible with the impression that we
are depicting.
