Most of my friends used a lot of ni krasivi slovar when I lived in KZ. I learned how to cuss pretty quickly.
My personal favorite is a Kazakh word- "mombeit" It is a corruption of Mohamed. If you call somebody that it it pretty much like saying F-you you backwards ass hillbilly- all in one word! Not sure how far this word is understood outside the south east republics though.

It's "мат"
"Мать" stands for Mother

Ahh, I read that "Mother" was slang for it. Good to know!

Linguistic scholars theorize that "мат" got its name as a result of some of the worst insults used involving a person's mother or "Мать".

Some of the older examples include things insinuating that your mother had sex with a dog or wolf that resulted in your birth.

No worries comrades...you will be fluent in Мат after we are done with next eastwind:)

The great thing about cussing in Russian, that it is the only language you can have a complete conversation, that is well understood, using only cuss words.  There are over 100,000 swear Russian words, so pick your poison.
