Oh you didn't know...yes you're going.
It's a month from now, so plenty of time to get prepared.
We'll even get you a birthday cake...sorta.
Some Russian marble sweetbread.

The time for Eastwind is growing nearer and nearer.
Things at the warehouse are busy.  We're also a bit shorthanded in that realm.  7POTA command has decided it in the best interests of all involved to redirect our focus (and locale) for the Fieldcraft Weekend.  Our new focus is more of a "Pre-Mobilisation" than "field training operations" maneuver (However we still will be conducting a variety of training and instruction while at the warehouse).

We will be shifting locale to the Conklin Compound near Farmington,MO.

We will be shifting focus to:
Maintenance/repair of vital equipment in advance of EWIII.
Erecting new tent structures to test viability and identify any issues. (We have two/three new structures recently acquired that need to be checked out).
Finalizing load plans and loading prime movers.
Testing/Calibrating Night Vision Device systems for EWIII.
Instruction on use of a variety of newly acquired Night Vision Devices.
Testing/Calibrating Power Supply Systems for EWIII.
Testing/Calibrating weapons systems for EWIII.
Testing/Identification/Repair of Functioning/NonFuctioning Comms gear.
Leadership meeting/briefing/review for EWIII.
Review of SOP protocols for EWIII.
Instruction in Drill/Ceremony for Soviet Forces.

On to of all that, we'll also manage to have a lot of fun, trust in that.

The E. Germans will very likely be conducting some vehicleborne training as well to standardize practices and methods with the BTR.

Gear required:
Fatigue Uniforms -We'll still be training and there still will be photos.
We'll be bunking in the warehouse, so bring appropriate sleep gear.
You won't necessarily need your full complement of field gear, but if you feel the need, bring it.

In consideration of time, and manpower left before Eastwind, we are shifting our Field craft Weekend focus from light infantry type patrolling to Mechanized Infantry training. (and packing)

The LOCATION IS CHANGING.
It will be at Brett's house to practice packing the SPW-40 (BTR).

Specifically we will test:
-Storing gear in and on the BTR.
-Putting on the Bows and cover.
-Building extra seats for the Radio operator.
-Tinkering with the radios to make sure they still operate and find freq have the best SWR. Add that data to the big book of Norms.
-Practice dismounting safely.
-See how many bodies will REALLY fit in the BTR.
--with the top open.
--And with the top closed.
-Check the max Load. Make sure that all the required gear and bodies inside does not bottom out the suspension.

To that end, I need the attending East Germans to bring all of the gear and equipment they plan to take into the field.  You can leave your footlocker at home.
That way we can load the BTR.
It will also give me a feel for your packing scheme.  Don't worry its not a test, I already know you are all knuckleheads.
But I do need to know how my troops are inclined to pack.

You guys should try out the 1PN51 Or at least see if both my batteries are live or if one is a bad (I think one is). Just be careful it cost me a bunch of pretty pennies.
