Dammit guys! This event was announced shortly after I committed to going to the WY game. And they're about to announce another one in my backyard. Not sure if I can financially manage getting to MO for yet another.

BUT I'd really like to run with the lot of you guys again, and my modern Russian kit is basically done. Will have to ponder on this.

Being as close as I am, I guess I'm in. I feel the need to shoot something.

Talking to Hoober, guess we will go as militia as well.

Gotta be a cheap bastard sometimes.  If we get Curfman and Trucker to join us we would be halfway to a squad of our own.... Trucker, still have your KCAA nametapes around?

Welp... as predicted, they announced the Victorville game. It's the weekend before this one. So, unfortunately, looks like I'll definitely not be going to MO to hang with you guys.

Troy and I were considering making the trek as Russian or militia.  I am allergic to multisham.  Potentially having an EW squad makes things that much more appealing.

Well if you decide to go russian, write down either "trigada" or steve lopez for the box that says "team/players"

The more we get as russkis the better-right now we are nearing a full squad but they want to pull some of us as dedicated drivers. There is some loaner equipment, weapons and uniforms up for any who need them.

Any pointers for those of us new to MSW games?  Do we need to pick up a full assault pack or will the ALICE buttpack do?

As long as you're able to carry whatever you need to survive 48 hours in the wild. Food, batteries, emergency lights, rain gear, basic medical supplies, spare clothes, sleeping arrangements. Water and ammo will be resupplied.

Got it, so skip the pack entirely and just go with standard fighting order adding a poncho and poncho liner rolled up and attached to the back of the harness.

Are we always carrying everything we bring or is it worth packing those shelter halves I spent so much time waxing for Eastwind?

Depends on your mission Smiley It's only what, 40 hours? It shouldn't be much trouble to slim things down - I'll probably run a poncho hootch and patrol bag with bivy which can fit in the bottom of a small pack. METT-TC!

Unless it gets below 15, then I'm packing light.

Improved rain-jacket, and a poncho liner, all stuffed into or around my ALICE gear.
And since shopping bags are not tactical enough, I guess my food and water will go into a medium ruck... maybe.

There is a "packing List" of required items.  Not sure how they enforce that, but a good bunch of that list is staying in the trunk of my car if allowed.

Rekkon shelter halves are rarely wasted effort.  Toss it in the car.  It is there if we decide to take it into the field.
Von-Reck shelters are fast to put up and make great protection, if it comes down to that.  Cold and rainy weather in October might make us reconsider our priorities.
