TO: ALL NATO STATIONS THIS AREA

CLASSIFICATION: ROUTINE

04 March  1992 2200L

SIITUATION:

RADIAC READING AT 1730L 5 RH/HR 2 CAN INF REPORTS 12 RH/HR AT INTER-GERMAN BORDER

METREP: WINDS CALM, TEMPS INCREASING, NO MAJOR PRECIP EXPECTED IN NEXT 24 HOURS. 

MAXIMUM EXPOSED STAY TIME FOR A PREVIOUSLY SHELTERED SOLDIER IS APPOX 10 HOURS. 

BREAK SHELTER AS NEEDED TO SOURCE SUPPLIES OR CONDUCT RADIAC SURVEYS BUT DO NOT REMAIN EXPOSED NEEDLESSLY.   REMEMBER TO SOURCE ALL WATER FROM STILL RATHER THAN MOVING SOURCES AND IF POSSIBLE ALLOW ALL COLLECTED WATER TO SETTLE PRIOR TO DISPENSING.  FOOD THAT HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO FALLOUT MAY BE EATEN BUT SHOULD BE THOROUGHLY WASHED FIRST.
