Looks good,  I would start off with a better polish on your boots particularly since you are using full leather/no GoreTex.   Good polish, stays polished up longer and keeps water out better.   For those of you not familiar with East Wind, this is mostly an issue in the mornings when dew SOAKS all the tall grass in addition to obviously when it rains...

Chem light holder is a good plan as well particularly if you happen to snaffle up some IR chem lights.

Svea 123 ?  Me too.  We should kid Chris Larson, that it is a squad leader thing to have one.

No,no Svea 123 for Christopher.  He would burn down one of the water buffalos with it.

Looks pretty good Goering.

A few thoughts:

Try not to store your MSS compressed if at all possible.  Loft is what keeps you warm and on synthetic fill bags it gets lost when they are stowed compressed.  If you leave it packed with the compression straps undone they usually store pretty well.

Do your canteens have cups and purification tabs with them?

Lastly, does your Enders stove run well?  I have had two that I could not get to come around, if yours runs, I'd like to look it over and see what important piece of the puzzle I was missing on mine.

I can speak for the stove, the thing works, but the pressure isn't prefect, I sat outside Monday evening and started pumping it up.

I had gave this stove to Zach and said, "...if you can get it to work it's yours." and he'd showed up Monday with it to include in his PCI and told me to, "try it now."

The pump didn't really feel like it was doing anything, but lo and behold, after less then 2 min of pumping up the tank, I saw that I was causing a puddle of fuel to pool in the little bowl under the burner.

So, being the red blooded American that I am, I lit that shit on fire.

Much like my Svea after heating for 6 seconds, it started cranking out the heat... It doesn't create large jets of flame, but it does get the burner red hot if not held in check with it's 2 valves.

Well I guess I'll have to see about taking some fancy pictures when I have some time, but I'll go ahead and chime in to say that I have all of the stuff I brought last year (basically what is required), and I already have my full MRE case A and case B so I can get good and filled up on every menu from 1 to 24 at least once. They're the yummy 2002 edition to boot. I am working on getting myself a mattock and a couple other little things I didn't have last year but wish I did. I'll be driving up with a +1, his name is Adam Bennett and he is going to be a 'reporter' for the entire event. I checked with Swayze and he said it was good provided he had a period kit, brought the appropriate food/sleep stuff/etc. and that I needed to get permission for him to bunk with us in our squad tent. If anyone needs to contact me feel free to call me at 803-609-7681. I don't remember Ready, but I remember Goering from last year. I'm looking forward to an awesome event.
