Grenzers gonna grenz

« on: January 23, 2013, 03:18:21 pm »

Didn't see a travel arrangements section for this year so I shall post this here until otherwise is determined.

We look like we have 3-4 guys from NM who have expressed intent on going this year, Myself, Spinal, notazombie, and i'm waiting on confirmation from Macatk.

I likely wont be able to attend all nine days since my unit has a live fire shoot the last weekend.

Ideas on travel arrangements and such? I talked to Kaz about him meeting us on his way and jumping on with us from here.

Without using the internet as my diary, I'll say that my wife and I have had a very, very difficult 2012 as far as finances go, and that I liquidated almost my entire collection to successfully keep us in the black.  The only things I kept were my 6b5, a belt, my Lifchik II, and my AKS-74.  This year is looking infinitely better, as my collection paid for the entirety of our vehicle/house repairs and I have been nominated "The Closer" at my place of employment, giving me almost twice the hours.  I will also be finishing my degree this year.

Regardless, I simply will not be able to attend Operation: East Wind VI.  Sorry to lead you all on.

A lot of us have loaner gear if that is any consideration. Good to hear you're back on your feet.

As Kaz said - lots of extra gear to be loaned.

If gear is the only thing stopping you - we can handle that.

Thing is I want to stay all 9 days... So this kind of messes with that if you guys have to leave early. I know Notazombie isn't sure he can stay the entire time too. So if I am picking guys up from the great western states and or NM. It would be preferable if they were full timers.

The drive from Las Cruces, NM to D-Day is about 13-14 hours ideally. I'll be able to leave by 3pm on March 8th and since I need to be back before March 15th ill probably leave late the 13th or early the 14th.

Link for likely route-

Spinal-If there is anything I can do to help you, financially or gear wise, please let me know. Your presence is extremely desired and I will be there at the drop of a hat.
