Because Group 1 has to be split into two cars anyway, a possible solution is as follows:

- Van #1 (mine) will leave on Friday - I can get Juansinanos and probably Tilt, if he's ok with leaving not too early on Friday  Grin I will also try to take as much of our gear as possible. We will then arrive to location either very late on Friday or Saturday morning (maybe do a last night in a hotel or something). Same group can stay longer and leave Sunday after helping pack.

- Van #2 (Vitaly's) will leave on Saturday, pick up Red_Ivan on the way, cause he's only coming back from university late on Friday and needs time to pack. This vehicle will also have a chance to leave a little earlier if needed.

This way we'll have the flexibility of two cars coming at different times, yet get a couple more hands helping out with setup and dismantling.

I'll check with Vitaly on his van's availability and mechanical condition, and verify if both vehicles have enough room for this plan to work out. Will update.

That's why I said "one of the possibilities" Smiley But yes, we gotta sit down and discuss.

If there is no room with Group 1 ride with us, Impulse76.

My Honda Element has only 2 seats in the back, but we can fit 3 people there. Won't be as comfortable, but manageable.
Gear will ride in the trailer we are renting.

Half an hour north of Detroit. Takes about 5 hours to get to Chicago. 10 hours to STL, which is about as far as I'd go in a day - so driving alone to the event would be a two days each way proposition.

So - for group 1 (late friday/early saturday) I could come in during the day Friday (maybe even get a nice morning shift at work) - for group two I'd drive in Thursday most likely. Then again, either way, I could just drive down in the early morning - gotta get my sleep schedule all messed up anyway.

Anyway I'm down for whateva.

I notice mention of STL. My plan is to fly into STL on Saturday. In the 'flying in thread' no one has responded about being able to snatch me up from the airport. Which is making me worried. So who is swinging through STL and when?
