About to finish Stasiland: Stories from Behind The Berlin Wall
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0062077325/ref=oh_details_o02_s01_i04?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Will look at next: Top Secret: Images from the Stasi Archives... skimmed it already, some hilarious stuff.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/3775736204/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Will start next: The Berlin Wall: A World Divided 1961-1989
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0060786140/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i03?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Then: Afghanistan: A Russian Soldier's Story
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1580084168/ref=oh_details_o02_s01_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Picked up several other books, but that's currently on the reading list.  Schooling myself a bit more about my host nation, and what to expect on this deployment to East Germany.

I can vouch for StaziLand and The Berlin Wall. Great reads!

I got bored on the way home and downloaded "Red Storm Rising"- Tom Clancy.

I have always wanted to read it so I got it on books-on-tape and so far its pretty good.   It was a nice way to cap the week of EW off with a good Cold War gone hot book.

I actually enjoyed that one. I can't usually read Clancy. I tried to read The Hunt For The Red October when I had to spend 5 days in county earlier this year and just couldn't get into it. Probably doesn't help with all the background noise and how technical some of his writing gets.
I wanted to reread Red Storm Rising. Will have to rebuy it since I lost my copy in a flood a few years ago.

If you like Clancy, you have to read Without Remorse. It's Vietnam era but damn is it a good book. Minimal techno-jargon, lots of pewpewpew and spookydood operating.

Lol

Rainbow Six is where it is at!
Without Remorse has that scene with the hyperbaric chamber/

If any of you want any Clancy, I read him pretty extensively in HS, and have many "Loaner" books and audio.
Tons of Cussler too, but, that is more of a brain vacation  Roll Eyes
