I love when I come home to large boxes from McMaster-Carr.

Mortar specific goodies:

Flex Hones in 120, 240, and 600 grit for polishing the barrel.

10 feet of rubber edging for the Mortar Ammo pack shelf.

A spare cotter pin with safety retaining clip.

6 Rubber handles with finger grooves.  I only need 1, but I think 2 may be destined for my lawn mower if the sizing works out...

Since I have a few minutes to spare before I head to a local airsoft meeting (pre-game planning session for a local big game a bunch of us are going to) I figured I'd install the rubber guard and cut to fit.

Like a glove:

May follow up with some kind of glue, but for the most part, it is very snug, especially on the sides, where it's wedged in.  You can also see some of the wear and tear the shelf experienced this past weekend too.  Definite signs of the propane can moving about, but I've got an idea that I need to implement that will stop that from happening.

And now nobody should lose a finger while fucking with the ammo pack!
