I ordered one yesterday, oddly enough. Art, you and I must be in some kind of binary orbit.
Was waiting to mention these on here until I'd seen it in person, didn't want to steer anyone wrong.  Looks to be the matching sleeping mat for our large Soviet-issue canvas sleeping bags, based on the pictures (construction, materials, coloration, etc).  Will report back here once I have it in hand.

Minor update: I haven't yet received my sleeping pad from Coleman's Surplus to review. Called them about it this morning, seems they some how managed to lose my order despite having sent me an email confirmation for it (with order number) and having already charged my credit card. Couldn't find any record of the payment or any other orders under my name, but with the order number voila, there it was.
The tip-off was that something was wrong was that the order I placed with them last Thursday for an unrelated Christmas present had already arrived, yet this one from two weeks ago had not.
Will update again soon as I get it in hand.

Thank you for an update. I'm keeping an eye on it as I want one as well.

Did you order brand new or used one?

I opted for the "new" one, under the theory that whatever markings might be on it (OTK stamps, manufacture date, etc) would be easier to read.

Got my 'new' "Russian" sleeping mat in today from Coleman's, unlike the rest of the order it came sealed in thick heavy clear plastic that took a full 5 minutes to get open, and I believe it to be the "factory" storage bag, more on that in a minute.
Inside was one heavy, ~6 pounds, rolled up roughly the same size and weight as the heavy Soviet issue sleeping bag,  77" x 29" canvas topped poly(?) filled pad, with pale green thick rubber on the bottom and dark green canvas top with barely legible Polish stampings. There are 4 sets of braided double fabric ties, each roughly 28" long for securing it to a cot or tying it up into a roll.

The one I got was/is Polish, early 2000's manufacture.
An attached card says:
ZPO "Nowaruda"
Nowa Ruda, PL. Gunwaldzki 2
Materac Koszarowo-Polowy
Wzor Nr. 717/Mon
Data produkcji 08/2005
It's thick and comfy, and that rubber bottom is likely near indestructible.  I will be using this instead of my Czech air mattress for barracks duty, I even have an odd set of Splav Gorka that is a dead ringer match for color, but wanted you guys to know that it is obviously not "Russian".
The used ones might be older and/or from a different source, no idea there though just speculation on my part.
Coleman's included a coupon code for 10% off any order from now to 1/15/2012: "THANKYOU112".

Bummer that they are Polish - however they look the part and are still approved for East Wind Smiley

At 6lbs they are for sure only for barracks use though!

Might make a decent 'guest' bed at my house too:)

Those actually do look pretty snazzy for barracks use.

A friend of mine showed me these:

http://shop.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/used-russian-military-insulated-sleep-mat-gray.aspx?a=935718

$10 less than the one from coleman's.  They appear to be the same.  I think I'm going to get one.
