I'm glad to see someone else posting some of these articles.

And it raises a question for me:  for those of us who haven't participated in an EW (me, for example) or attended a training event (me again), will we have the opportunity to ramp up?  Get some intensive training and drill done early on in the week before things get "hot"?

What does a weekly schedule at EW generally look like?  I'm not expecting to have hours of unstructured time or anything.  How full are the days?

I probably ought to make a cheat card with the hand signals on it to study on.

There is a different style of the diagram of hand signals posted at http://www.operationeastwind.com/forum/index.php?topic=1504.0

Not all signals are required but nice to know. Depends on what our section leader want us to know. Not sure cheat sheet would help in the heat of battle, but during down time it would. I did use a cheat sheet for the OpOrd etc which is posted on the UK forum. http://www.operationeastwind.com/forum/index.php?topic=1559.0

Swayze can explain the training if he wants. We did get a little time to train last year by squad and rock drills but who knows what shape the World will be in March 10, 2012! I have heard some recent rumors!  Wink

No I wasn't planning on using the cheat sheet while under fire.  It was so I would have something to reference without having to carry the entire book around with me.

It's good to hear we can "count" on some shakedown the first day or two.  I know I need it.

Hmm, I wonder who our Sargeant Major is?

I have a 1991 copy of this book that I picked up used. But instead of this stuff I've got British Hand to hand combat, a comparison of various SMGs, and what to do if Iranians hijack your Airliner.

I'll get it to you, Furnas.

You have volume #1. I have all 28 volume. Each volume has a section on Combat Skills, Unarmed Combat, Weapon & Equipment Guide, Survival, Fighting Fit, and ombat Report. I started the collection like twenty years ago with like three volumes. I bought the whole series in the last month.

Edit: No need for volume #1. I have two copies! LOL!

Ahh. I see the "volume 1" on the spine now. So you don't need it then?

Just like in the movie "No Man's Land" about the Bosnian war. Except they didn't use claymores, they had bounceing mines if i rememeber correctly. Good movie too, French UN soldiers, US news crews, and the best German bomb squad member to say that he can't defuse the mine.

 Roll Eyes

Fine. As we aren't really large enough for a RSM, perhaps a better question might be, who is Training Cadre?

Warnick is your primary training Cadre.

You guys aren't a big enough group to get an RSM of your own so you'll have to borrow the US 1st Sgt (Larsen) for that stuff.
