2) US GOVERNMENT PERSONNEL WHO CANNOT RETURN TO THEIR DUTY STATION WITHIN 12 HOURS DUE TO TRAVEL DELAYS OR ANY OTHER REASON WILL REPORT TO THE NEAREST US GOVERNMENT OFFICE AND PRESENT THEMSELVES FOR DUTY.

3) ALL DEPENDENTS OF US GOVERNMENT PERSONNEL IN USAREUR WILL MAKE PREPARATIONS TO LEAVE THE EUROPEAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS. IMCOM WILL BE CONTACTING EACH FAMILY INDIVIDUALLY WITH ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS WITHIN 24 HOURS.

3A) ANY DEPENDENTS ALREADY SCHEDULED TO DEPART EUROPE WITHIN THE NEXT 72 HOURS SHOULD MAKE PROVISIONS FOR AN EXTENDED LEAVE AND CONFIRM THEIR  DEPARTURE TO ASSURE AN ACCURATE HEADCOUNT.

ANY PERSONNEL OR DEPENDENTS WITHIN ANY OF THESE COUNTRIES SHOULD DEPART IMMEDIATELY.

ALL PREVIOUSLY ISSUED ALERTS ARE STILL IN FORCE. DO NOT RELAX FROM THE CURRENT STATUS. A SUMMARY OF CURRENT ALERTS IS PROVIDED BELOW:

1) DEFENSE CONDITION -- DEFCON 2 (TWO) -- A HIGH CHANCE OF WAR EXISTS...ESPECIALLY REGIONALLY WITHIN EUCOM. ALL SUITABLE PREPARATIONS SHOULD BE MADE FOR CONVENTIONAL OR NUCLEAR WAR.

2) THREAT CONDITION -- THREATCON CHARLIE -- A SPECIFIC THREAT EXISTS TO US MILITARY ASSETS FROM CIVIL UNREST, TERRORIST OR INSURGENT FORCES.

3) AIR DEFENSE THREAT STATUS -- YELLOW -- A GENERAL HEIGHTENED RISK OF ENEMY AIR ATTACK EXISTS. A SPECIAL NOTE IS PROVIDED FOR COMBERBDE... UNITS OUTSIDE THE CITY OF BERLIN WILL MAINTAIN AIR WATCH AND PLACE AIR DEFENSE UNITS IN A TWO MINUTE READINESS. AIR DEFENSE UNITS WITHIN THE CITY OF BERLIN WILL COORDINATE WITH THE AIR DEFENSE COORDINATOR. ALL UNITS WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO CONCEAL DISPERSED SITES FROM AERIAL OBSERVATION.

4) UNIT READINESS CONDITION -- REDCON-2 (TWO) -- ALL UNITS IN THE BDE WILL BE PREPARED TO FIGHT WITH MINIMAL NOTICE. BE PREPARED TO MOVE TO REDCON-1 WITH 2 (TWO) HOURS NOTICE.

THESE CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN IN FORCE UNTIL MODIFIED, INCREASED OR REVOKED BY FURTHER SECURE MESSAGES.

ASALWAYS, STAY SAFE AND THINK BEFORE YOU ACT.  REMEMBER YOUR ACTIONS CAN BE FELT AROUND THE WORLD, WHETHER POSITIVE OR NEGAGTIVE.

Stay safe and don’t do anything stupid.
