Operation East Wind is set in the Berlin District of a still divided Germany sometime between 1985 and 1995. As a NATO soldier coming into this environment you would find yourself as part of an elite brigade surrounded on every side by the full might of the Warsaw Pact. If the Cold War went hot, your job is to hold out as long as you can and make the enemy pay for every brick, stick and curb in blood. It was common knowledge that there was to be no such thing as a victory for the Berlin garrison. There would be only blood and pain.
We appreciate your interest in attending on behalf of the NATO forces, and defending democracy for the free peoples of Germany. Before committing to attend, be sure to complete these tasks:
- Schedule – Make sure you can attend. East wind takes place over nine days in mid to late March. It is designed to align with the most common Spring Break times, but not everyone's is the same, and those who work cannot always get time off. Make your requests now.
- Transport – Make sure you can get to the event. The location is D-Day Adventure Park in Wyandotte, Oklahoma. We get attendees from far and wide, so check on the forums, or start your own thread, and arrange carpooling or convoying.
- Payment – Make sure you can pay for the event, and if you don't have lots of spare cash, then start setting aside money for it. Deposit dates and fees will be detailed shortly, so check back.
- Rules – Read the entire list of rules & regulations for East Wind. While you may think you know everything about airsoft, you will be required to abide by the spirit and the letter of each and every rule, both to preserve the milsim experience for everyone else, and for the safety of all players. Do not assume this is legal fine print, and ignore it. Read every word of the rules and decide if you can live up to them.
- Role – Select an attendee option (full-time or day-player). For full-time players, also select the nationality and unit you will join. These are listed on this page, so scroll down to review them all. Review the equipment requirements, and begin purchasing the equipment you need for your selected unit.

U.K. Armored Vehicle Crew
The U.K unit attending East Wind is an element of C Squadron, 11th Hussars (Prince Albert's Own), a light armored cavalry unit deployed to support the British Berlin Infantry Brigade. In between bouts of fixing things, getting stuck and bashing your (always helmeted) head on the hatch you will conduct combat support, recon...

West German Bundeswehr
The West German unit portrayed at East Wind is a Jaeger (light infantry) unit. The Bundeswehr did not station large combat formations in West Berlin. The Jaegers are some of the more plausible units to be deployed, or otherwise find their way into Berlin at a time of crisis. As a Jaeger, you'll be fighting as light infantry. This...

Attending East Wind as a Day Player
Can't get the time off work? Can't afford to attend full-term? Or just not ready to put the time, effort and money into all that equipment? A very affordable Day Player option is also offered.
As a day players, you must show up no later than 8:00 am the day you wish to play. You will be checked in, given the safety briefing, and mustered into the main NATO force at 9:00 am. Day players may participate each day until 6:00 p.m, when they muster out. Players may leave earlier if they prefer.
For all intents and purposes, Day Players represent the full mix of "other" military personnel that might be found in Berlin during a crisis. As such, the uniform requirements are fairly lax and must only represent any NATO nation. Without the requirement to operate 24/7 in all weather, day player equipment requirements are fairly light as well.
The fee is just $25 per day to attend the event if pre-paid and pre-registered. Walk ons will pay $25. Day players must be registered and paid by no later than March 5th. No walk ons will be admitted this year. Meals are not provided for day players so pack a lunch. There is affordable camping on site as well as flush toilets and showers.
Day Players are very welcome and are a much appreciated bit of extra firepower and energy that all of the full experience guys very much look forward to seeing. Do not hesitate to come on out for a few days and see what East Wind is all about.
